Hello Pantera Booster Club,

Can you believe that the football season is almost over?  Looks like we can plan to add a few more games to the end of the season.  The team looks destined to make it to playoffs.
Does it get any better than the "Bob & Sue" dance?   Thanks to all the gentlemen who got out and boogied with the Panteras, as always it was the best part of all the homecoming festivities.
Mika Simpson and her committee have been hard at work to make this the best dinner/auction ever.  Please remember to keep November 9th open; we will need the help of every Pantera and their parents to make this fundraiser a huge success.  Thanks to all the parents and girls for getting their auction items turned in.
The girls received their forms for the poinsettia sale last Friday; please make sure they are selling them.  It is a great opportunity to make extra $$$ to go into their personal account for contest season.
I hope to see everyone at the Booster Club meeting on November 4th.   We will be finishing up all the last minute details for the Dinner/Auction.  Make sure to be inviting all your friends and family so we will have plenty of guests to bid on all the treasures.

Greetings from Cardwell's Corner!

Dear Pantera Family:

I hope that everyone is staying healthy with all of the changes in the weather.  I cannot seem to keep my family well. Come on first freeze!!!!

Can you believe that we only have two regularly scheduled games left?  Are you ready for playoffs?  If you have never been involved in playoffs before, you are in for a lot of fun!  The spirit on campus grows each week as you advance on to another round.  Realize that we could have a game the week of Thanksgiving!  As we get closer please let me know if your daughter will be out of town and will not be able to get back for a play off game during the holidays.

The girls are doing a wonderful job keeping up with their busy lives.  They are working hard and performing well.  The contest jazz dance is great!  I think you all will enjoy it.  This weekend we learn our contest lyrical - busy, busy, busy!

Prop dads - will need your help in the near future working on a prop for our modern dance.  Also, I am looking for 14 stools for our contest jazz if anyone has any resources in that area.  And, need a mini trampoline.

Just a note that the contest elite choreography workshop will be rescheduled once again.  The choreographer that I hired lost her husband of three months last week Friday.  He was in the Navy and involved in the recent air accident in California.  Please keep Kim McSwain and her family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Dinner/Auction is around the corner.  I hope that everyone is getting geared up for our largest fundraiser - it is also the most fun fundraiser!

Sincerely,

Kim Cardwell

Thirty- three members of the CHHS Pantera Varsity Dance Team participated in the Walk to Cure Diabetes on Saturday, September 28, 2002 in Fort Worth.  They raised $2000 towards finding a cure for diabetes.

That evening, the other twenty-four members of the CHHS Panteras participated in the 4th Annual Light the Night Walk in Grand Prairie.  They raised $1800 towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Thank you and congratulations to the Panteras Dance Team for outstanding service to our community.  We are proud to have you on our CHHS Team.

2002 Pantera Dinner Auction

The 2002 Pantera Dinner Auction is on the launch pad!  We hope that Saturday, November the 9th   will be remembered in Pantera History as the day we exceeded our fundraising expectations.

Many thanks to all of the families, who have worked so diligently to solicit donations, sell dinner tickets, raffle tickets, and volunteer their time to organize this event.

At our upcoming Booster Club meeting, we will give a brief overview of the Dinner Auction positions and their responsibilities.  Beverly Rogers will be in contact with each family to schedule shifts for the Panteras and their parents.  Participation in the execution of this event contributes many well-deserved Paw Points to your account.  We will have a “sign in” table to make certain that you receive credit for the time that your family works.

We will be offering one more Sunday afternoon at Albertson’s on November 3rd, from noon to 4 pm, for those that would like another opportunity to sell their tickets.  Last Sunday was a slow day for dinner ticket sales (raffle tickets were a hit), but now that Emmitt has made his move, we hope to have more traffic in the grocery aisles.  Please call Cathy Williams or myself to schedule an Albertson’s shift.  We are accepting ticket and raffle money now!  The deadline for all monies to be turned in is Monday, November 4th.

Thank you for inviting your friends, family, and other patrons to participate in this festive evening.  Remind them that this is a wonderful time to do some bargain Christmas shopping!

We look forward to eating wonderful food, raising some cash, and enjoying the performances of our Premier Panteras during this Italian evening!  The final countdown is on!

Ready or not, we’re off and running with Poinsettia flower sales.  As you know the Poinsettia sale started 10/25/02.    Remember you are required to sell 10 Poinsettias and any amount sold over 10 will be a 50/50 split.  All money, order forms are due back to me by 11/19/02.  Delivery is scheduled for 12/7/02 from 10:00 – 1:00 at CHHS.  I will need a few parents to help sort the flowers prior to delivery times.  If you can help, please contact me.
