March 2004

Key Dates to Remember:

  • March 4: Leave for Florida

  • March 7: Win Contest of Champions

  • April 16: Pantera Banquet

Presidential Ponderings . . . . .

Hello Pantera Booster Club Members,

Congratulations to Kelli and our Premier Panteras. They not only had outstanding performances at both contests, but they also received an award that was given to them by their peers. These girls are just one more example of Panther Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School.
This week we are off to our final contest in Florida. It will be several days of great competition and lots of fun in the parks. We will be leaving very early on Thursday morning, so make sure your Pantera brings something to eat and drink. There will be no food on the airplane and we have very little time to purchase food in Atlanta.
Our next event will be the banquet on April 16th. On that evening we will honor our 2003-2004 team. Mika Simpson will be making the video, so please get any pictures that you would like to share in the video to Mika as soon as possible. If you do not have any photos, contact Cathy Williams. She has taken many great photos this year and she probably has some of your daughter.
At our last meeting, we chose a nominating committee. This committee will present a slate of officers at the April meeting. If you were not at the meeting and are interested in a position on the board, please contact Phyllis Ford, Julie Brenegan, Lori Stephens, Lorraine, or me. If you have the time and the energy, we’d love to have you on the 2004-2005 board.
Good luck Panteras! You rock! We love you and know you will do well at the Contest of Champions.

Anne

We need your photos! We need pictures that capture the events and memories of this year to include in our Pantera Banquet Video. Preproduction on the video will begin during the month of March and we will need all pictures turned in no later than March 27th.

Please choose your shots; then label each picture clearly on the back with your last name and a number. Place the photos in an envelope with your name and the total number of photos included. Once the video is edited, your pictures will be returned to you.

We want to make certain that every girl is included in the video and we can only edit what is turned in…so please send at least a few shots of your Pantera.

Remember that because we have a set length for the video, we will not be able to use every picture that is sent. Please don’t send photos that are out of focus or dark, as they don’t scan well. For you digital photo buffs we can use your photos on disc or you can send them by email. Please contact me for pixel size and such.

If you have Hi 8 or 8 mm Digital footage, or Mini DV of the Panteras please label your tape clearly. I will digitize the footage that we can use and return the tape. We are particularly interested in “behind the scenes” footage. The girls do funny things when they aren’t aware of the camera watching.

When your envelope is prepared you may bring it by our house or send it by your daughter to class where she can hand if off to Katie Simpson.
Please call with any questions.

Greetings from Kelli’s Corner

Panteras and Parents,

WOW!!!! What an incredible contest season! The Panteras ROCK my world and obviously the contest judges too! The girls are winners no matter what awards they receive because they have reached very high goals and standards that have been set. The difficult level of choreography and the intensity of movement that the girls are asked to perform is remarkable for a high school dance team. The Panteras have also become a unified team! This is evident not only in their strong dance performances, but in their encouragement of each other and positive interaction with each other off the performance floor.

Panteras - I want to thank all of you for working hard each and every day of practice! You make my job VERY fun and rewarding!

Parents – I want to thank you for your countless hours in helping to produce the phenomenal performances of the Panteras. Props, sets, costumes, etc…are all fabulous because of YOUR help!

I am so proud and honored to be a part of the Pantera FAMILY!! We are going to have a BLAST in Florida! Contest of Champions…HERE WE COME!

Sincerely,
Kelli Woodruff
