Welcome Back Pantera Families!

It is hard to believe that school has started and that the Panteras have already had their first performance at Panther Pride night.  What a great job they did that night.  The girls and Ms. Woodruff have worked so hard over the summer to get ready for the 2004 – 2005 season.

A big “Thank You” goes to all the board members and other parents that have pitched in to start another successful year for our Panteras.  There are several opportunities for everyone to get involved with the Booster Club.  I encourage all of you to sign up at our August 30 meeting to work on one of the many committees.  It is a great way to meet other parents and get to know the girls.

Our first meeting on August 30th is a very important meeting, it will be the first meeting as a combined Booster Club with the Pantherettes, we will be voting on this year’s budget, talking about Paw Points and Participation points. We will give you the latest updates on Dance Clinic, Auction, Fundraising, Poinsettia sales, Philanthropy walks and Football season.  Are the men ready for “Bob & Sue”?  Learn what we have in store for you for homecoming!

The Panteras have a busy fall so be sure to mark your calendars for all the upcoming events.  The next time the Panteras perform is at the first Pep Rally on September 3rd and then again that night at the Cedar Hill game.  Be sure to bring your cameras so you capture those memories.

Looking forward to a great year!

Pantera Annual Auction

Saturday, October 30, 2004

Everyone should already have their calendars marked for our annual auction on Saturday, October 30th!  As a reminder, participation at this event is mandatory for all Panteras and their families.  If you know that you have a conflict on October 30th, please contact Laurie Turner as soon as possible and I will assign you a job that may be completed before the event!  I will have sign-up sheets for all of the auction committees at the August 30th Booster Club Meeting.  The committees include Auction Donations (this group works in the weeks before auction to help organize the items and make them look pretty for display), Alumni Letter (this is a job for 1 or 2 people to be done in September), Food, Cashier, Program (done 2 weeks before auction), and Decorations.

The girls did an excellent job on their squad blitz days and are continuing to make follow up calls.  They have already collected over $9000 in merchandise (or promises for merchandise)…well on their way to the team goal of $15,000.  In fact, Casey’s squad has already past the $3000 mark. The squad with the highest total will receive a prize; every squad WILL get to $3000, even if they have to go out together on another day.  Please be sure to congratulate your daughter on her efforts and encourage her to make those follow-up calls!  We hope to wrap up squad blitz by Labor Day.

Now is the time for each family to start collecting their $200 in items.  I will have the necessary forms at the August 30th Booster meeting.  Please understand that we do not mean for you to go out & spend $200.  You may ask businesses you frequent for donated items (for example, we ask the limo company Cary uses to donate a limo for prom night).  If you do not have contacts like this, you may pick up items on sale & we record it at full retail value.  I have had a few of you ask if you can just make a $200 donation because you don’t have time to try to find items, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY!  Cash is always accepted!  The deadline for family items is Friday, October 8th.

Finally, we have received approval from the District to have a raffle again this year.  I would love to hear any suggestions you might have for items to raffle.  The cheerleaders are raffling a plasma TV (our item last year), so we might want to find something different…MP3 player, digital camera…

Please call if you have ideas for the auction or have questions.

  WOODRUFF WORDS

 Dear Pantera Family,

What a great group of girls are on the Pantera Dance Team!  My first year was amazing, but I am glad that the second year has arrived.  It was awesome for me to actually know the girls’ names before camp began!  I am much more informed of school, administrative, and dance team procedures; therefore, my stress level has been reduced!  New Panteras, it will get easier for you too!

TbarM camp was tiring but VERY fun!  The girls were extremely respectful to each other, the dance staff, the TbarM staff, Dr. Foster and myself.  We did have the unusual occurrence of so many Panteras becoming ill upon return from camp.

After a week of recuperation from camp, the Panteras returned healthy and ready to work.  Amazing improvement occurred during the two weeks of practice…dance technique, performance skills, and team unity all increased.  Hard work paid off with an excellent Panther Pride Night performance!

The Panteras are a VERY talented group of young ladies who uphold high standards in not only their dancing but also in academics and other extra-curricular activities in and out of school.  I am so fortunate to be able to work with such a talented, respectful, and out-going group of young ladies!

A special THANK YOU to everyone who spent many hours fundraising this summer.  We are off to a great start and a PREMIER year!

Sincerely,

Kelli Woodruff

  • Hand wash in the tub, cleaning the neck and underarms really well.  Be careful not to rub to hard.
