Presidential Ponderings . . . . .

Hello Pantera Booster Club,

The “Bob and Sue” dance was the highlight of the evening and the crowd loved it, I’m sure each of you heard many compliments.  Thanks to the entire team of “Bob’s” who volunteered their time, coming to all the practices, and participating in the halftime show for homecoming. It’s always a fun dance for everyone involved!  It is hard to believe we only have three more games in the regular season to play.  Let’s hope our team continues a winning streak and we go to the playoffs!

Attending the Booster Club meetings is the easiest way for you to stay informed, contribute to decisions and be involved in the upcoming activities of the Panteras. Our next meeting is October 25 and is a very important meeting because we will finalize for the Auction on October 30. This is our largest fundraiser and it is important that we work together to get everything ready.  Be sure to invite all your family and friends to come bid on all the wonderful merchandise we have to sell.  Rick Stacy of Stacy Furniture is our Auctioneer!  You can always get more dinner or raffle tickets to sell from Laurie Turner.

We are in the middle of the Poinsettia sale where each Pantera is required to sell 10 plants to meet the Paw Point requirement. This year you have an opportunity to earn money for Pantera activities by going above and beyond the required amounts when we have fundraisers.  Once you have met your required Paw Points, anything else earned individually or from a group activity goes into a personal account for you to use for the trip, banquet or any Pantera activity.

Next is contest season which is a lot of fun and we have some great activities planned for the time in San Antonio. You will be hearing more about how you can be involved in contest at our meetings.  Thanks to all the parents, families and friends that work so hard to support our Panteras, you are greatly appreciated!

Pantera Annual Auction

Saturday, October 30, 2004

I know everyone is excited to work at our annual auction on Saturday, October 30th!  As a reminder, participation at this event is mandatory for all Panteras and their families.  I will have all of the job assignments at the meeting on Monday, October 25th and we will break in to committees for a brief run through of job assignments at the end of our meeting!  Everyone will be assigned more than one shift…helping with set-up does not mean you get out of working that evening because it takes all of us to fill every position!

Please tell your friends and family that this will be a very entertaining evening with the Kids Karnival for 3 – 10 year olds, Rick Stacy for our auctioneer, and dances by the Panteras and Pantherettes, as well as a wonderful opportunity to start that holiday shopping!  I find that its worth it to buy all 10 of my $5 tickets and give them free to people I think will come and buy auction items!

Thanks to the efforts of several girls and their parents who answered my call for help, the team did reach the combined squad goal of $15,000 in merchandise!  Special thanks to Molly & Katherine Fleming, Nikki & Melanie Guillet, Kristy & David Tharp, Gretchen & Cathy Williams, Toni McKinnon, Rebecca Lincer, Derexa Wooley, Stephanie & Machteld Van Hoek, and, Lindsey & Casey Turner for going above and beyond to help the team!

Special thanks to my “Visual Merchandising” team of Michele Audas, Linda Maberry, Derexa Wooley, Gina Wilson, Machteld Van Hoek, Katherine Fleming, and Toni McKinnon who have been diligently working to make sure all of our auction items look their most enticing.  Also, my undying gratitude to Melanie Guillet, Susie Levy and Cathy Williams for being there to help me every step of the way!

Please bring all raffle money and stubs and dinner ticket money to the meeting on Monday!  Be sure to keep them separated and clearly labeled so that I can properly credit your accounts.  Turn raffle ticket and dinner ticket money in to only me (do not give it directly to Susie or to Mrs. Woodruff)!

  WOODRUFF WORDS

Dear Panteras and Parents,

What an amazing football season we have had with AWESOME Pantera performances, GREAT parent participation, and SPECTACULAR Homecoming Hall Decorations!  I am so proud of how the Panteras worked together to create the 1st place decorated hall.  Parents, if you did not see the Pantera hallway, the theme was “Dance Around the World” and each squad depicted a style of dance from 5 different countries.

There are 3 more football games till the season is over, and then we will move into my favorite part of the year – contest!  Parents, please help your Pantera stay strong to the end and persevere when the going gets tough.

I would like to thank everyone who helped with the Junior Dance Clinic.  Connie Hickson did a great job taking over and organizing this event.  It was a huge success with more kids than we expected and didn’t they look adorable!

Laurie Turner is leading the way with auction plans.  This is a huge event that NEEDS everyone’s help.  Even though it is a lot of work it is always a lot of fun!  Thank you all who have helped prepare for the event.  I know it will be a huge success and make LOTS of money.

Bob’s - The Panteras and myself thoroughly enjoyed working with you during Homecoming week.  It is a lot of work organizing so many people on the field, but it is always a fun job!  Thank you Bob’s for working so hard to have a great performance with your Sue.  YOU did a SUPER job, and the audience LOVED it!

Sincerely,

Kelli Woodruff
